CARMINE & TIM SCHULZE

Growing up, we lived in Vancouver, Washington, and met our sophomore year of high school. We both graduated from the University of Washington.

In 1991 we married, and made our way to the Midwest, where Tim went to grad school at Northwestern University.

During Tim's post-docs, we got to experience life in NYC and England, where Tim was at the Courant Institute, then at DAMTP, Cambridge.

Tim taught and did research at the Univ. of Tennessee in Knoxville for nearly 26 years. Sadly, Tim passed away in March of 2025. He will be greatly missed by many, including friends, family, colleagues, and his wife, Carmine.

To reach Carmine with memories of Tim, please email knoxwebs@gmail.com.

“A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It's a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity.”
Former US President, Jimmy Carter
She climbs into bed
She pulls the covers overhead
And she turns her little radio on
She's had a rotten day
So she hopes the DJ's
Gonna play her favorite song

Makes her feel much better
Brings her closer to her dreams
A little magic power
Makes it better than it seems
